How Anlage 11 FeV works
Anlage 11 to the Fahrerlaubnis-Verordnung (FeV) is titled "Staatenliste zu den Sonderbestimmungen für Inhaber einer ausländischen Fahrerlaubnis" and belongs to section 31 FeV. Source: gesetze-im-internet.de, retrieved 5 November 2026.
What the table contains
For each issuing state, territory, US state or Canadian province it gives four things: the classes, whether a theory exam is required, and whether a practical exam is required. Where the classes column says "alle" (all), all classes are covered.
Specific classes only
For entries marked with note 1 (the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, the US entries and the Canadian entries), the official note says that where specific classes are named instead of "all", only German class B is issued on the basis of them.
Notes
Many entries carry official notes, for example on eyesight proof, learner licences that cannot be exchanged, or conditions for older licences. Each page shows the notes of its entry in English; the German text is authoritative.
Not listed
A country with no entry in the table is not covered by Anlage 11. This site does not explain what applies then; ask the licence authority responsible for you.
